Check Your Baggage

"Trying to fit in too much all at once? I’m talking about your life, not your bags. Crazy how similar they can be though."

We, as people, try to overcome and achieve more than we may or may not be able to handle at once. They could be anything from home projects to the stack of work at the office. We don’t always do it but I’m sure we all have done that once in our professional life or know someone who does that a lot. There is nothing wrong with being an over achiever, but there is one thing that you want to consider that comes with this kind of life. It raises the risks of stress in one’s life and I’m sure we all know what happens when stress rises. In short: nothing good whatsoever.
Stress releases a hormone called Cortisol. Think of Cortisol as a,” Silent Killer.” It does nothing good for the body. It increases blood sugar, suppresses the immune system, has been shown to decrease bone formation, increases blood pressure and can even shut down the reproductive system. That’s a huge price to pay for stacking too much on your plate at once, wouldn't you agree? Now a lot of people will like to play the ,”Victim” card here and say that their life is to hard or to stressful and you are doing the best you can. With respect, I bet there is a solution that you haven’t tried yet.
There are many different ways to handle stress. Stress management should be something you would look into while reading this information.
·         Acupuncture
·         Massage
·         Exercise
·         Meditation
·         Yoga
·         Extra Curricular Activities (Taking a hobby, playing guitar, dance class, etc. )
·          Seeing a therapist
·         Writing in a journal

Some of these solutions not only can help your situation but help you perform way better. We all know we cannot perform at our best with our mind somewhere else. Yes, life can get hard and that’s never going to change, but the root of all problems in life is you and you alone. You may not be able to have a say in your car breaking down unexpectedly, a horrible boss at work or the amount of homework you’re getting at school. However, you have complete control of how you will deal with it. That’s what you’re the root of all issue in your life. You have the final say in if that problem is going to be something huge or small, no one else. We all know life can hit pretty hard. Just get up, and hit back harder. I’m sure that you aren't the type that likes to stay down on the floor or the type to like having stress in your life. You can change it. So what are you waiting for?
