We as
people are capable of doing magnificent things in our life time. We have built
extraordinary structures, developed technology that we never thought would be
possible outside of a Sci-Fi movie, moved thousands of people at once with mere
words and could hold the weight of an entire country on a single pair of
shoulders and still succeed. We are built to last a long time, and obviously
through advances in medical science and exercise; we last longer than we ever
have nowadays. What do all these powerful, progressive people have in common?
Not all of them were rich. Not all of them possessed a college education. So
what was it?
One of
the significant things all of these people have in common is they were held
accountable for their own decisions and action. Be it personal accountability
or no, there was some person or something in their lives that pushed them to
keep going until the finish line was crossed. When it comes to changing your
life for the better and making good decision, it is always a good idea to get
all the help you can get. Obviously we are all motivated differently and this
article will help you realize how you are better motivated and how to
capitalize on this knowledge. Knowing this about you could make all the
difference in your success.
People
do not like being told what to do. I feel that goes for the majority of the
population. However, being instructed on how to keep your progression coming is
a totally different thing. If you already know you cannot make positive changes
by yourself, I would suggest you seek someone to help you stay accountable. Be
it a; Personal trainer, nutrition coach, therapist, spouse or best friend, any
of these people can help bring you a step further closer to your personal
goals. Again, I you know that your workouts aren’t up to par when you train by
yourself or you do not even make it to the gym, invest in yourself. Sure, it
will cost money up front and you will have to be slightly uncomfortable but the
end results are worth everything you put it and more.
Obviously
if you have no problem being told what to do, I would like to think you would
have no problem finding your way to the gym to take care of yourself. I would
like to propose a challenge to the consistent members of the gym to invest in you.
Find a trainer who can challenge you and get you on a whole different level and
teach you a few new things in the process. Just because you aren’t in bad shape
or overweight, does not mean you couldn’t use a trainer or a training partner
to improve.
Whatever
the case may be, the last thing you want to do is being what they call a
“Maintenance Phase”. Once you say,” I’m Maintaining” you slowly begin to start
going back to where you were. Remember,” If you stand around to long while
going to where you want to be, you will start getting lost in the crowd of the
average and the mediocre.” – SeanB
