“Taking a small step
forward gives you more than standing still or taking a full step back any day.”

Have you ever met someone who seems to dominate in every
aspect of their lives? Or maybe someone who can pick up a hobby and excel in it
within a short amount of time? They are rare but they do exist. I can
understand how something that like that can be inspiring but also demoralizing
at times. Even though our reactions to something like this is all relevant, the
point is that no matter what we do in our lifetime we move at our own pace.
One big thing I see when it comes
to people getting started in anything they want to do is they feel they need to
go all out all at once. This theory usually ends in disaster with few who make
it out on top of this method. We move at our own pace no matter what we are
getting into at this time. I always try to remind my clientele that what one
has achieved, it may or may not happen for them within that same time frame. It
is discouraging to realize this but; again, we would have a better outcome if
we establish a better idea of how we operate individually and utilize this
knowledge to our ability. Here is how we can make this little bit of
information to help us succeed to our fullest potential.
First and foremost, you need to do
your research. Whether you’re looking into anything new to you, first do your
research on how you operate. Do you go full throttle and does it work? Maybe
you tend to move fairly well but hit a minor speed bump and give up all
together? This little bit of knowledge of yourself will make all the
difference. The reason is because no matter what is given to you or what you
have going for you, the main influence on your success in anything you do is
all on you and only you.
Secondly,
do not try to copy what anyone else does. Do not mimic someone else’s workouts.
Do not try to keep up with people who are far more experienced than you.
Instead, learn from their workouts and their experiences. You have to establish
your pace and keep that pace until you are able to take it from a walk to a
run. It is all about making your foundation strong. If you have a strong
foundation, you can handle anything that comes your way. No matter what it is.
Just how the basics are the most important part of learning, your foundation is
the most important part of growing and progressing.
Finally, know that nothing good
comes overnight. It takes a lot of work and patience. You’re that master
sculptor that has this massive piece of rock and he/she has to chip away at it
over and over again until the masterpiece is finished. It is the exact same
with anything worth doing. You’re constantly chipping bit by bit until the end
result is done. You will have hard times and you will want to stop or give up,
but remember that a baby step forward beats standing still and a step
back.
